Why blend Religion and Science

Islam and Science
Why blend Religion and Science

In view of the later post of this Label Human knowledge can be divided into two categories:
  1. Knowledge communicated by God to man through holy Prophets, which deals with man in articular and the universe in general - referred to as RELIGION.
  2. Knowledge acquired by man through his own inquiry, observation and experimental efforts which deals with the whole universe including himself - referred to as SCIENCE.
Verses of the Quran cited below prove that human knowledge, whether religious or scientific, directly or indirectly owes its origin to God and is an insignificant part of divine Knowledge. Observation, memory, intelligence, expression, in short all human faculties are gifts of God to man and no man and no human being could have acquired even a speck from Divine knowledge, without these faculties and without God's will, as evident from the following verses of the Quran:
"He (ALLAH) knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they cannot comprehend anything out of His knowledge except that which He pleases ."(Surah AL-BAQRAH v.255)
"And none can inform you like the One who is aware."(Surah AL-FAATAR v.4)
"Who (ALLAH) thaught (to write) with the pen, taught men what he knew not."(Surah AL-ALQ v.4-5)
An inquiry into the aims and effects of these two great institutions of religion and science, reveals that both aim at human welfare, former concentrating on spiritual comforts and the latter on material, but in effect, both are major causes of human disasters. The fact that institutions having such a noble aim are in effect so destructive is not so surprising when we consider the causes. In the field of religion man neither believes in nor obeys the constitution of God and in the field of science he misuses knowledge, which again is due to lack of faith in religion. This is an age of science and man has developed so intense a faith in science that he retains what science approves and discards what science disproves  The science conscious world

Science :

The universe we live in, consists of innumerable material objects, animate and inanimate, either in motion or relatively at rest and energies in the form of heat, light, electricity e.t.c., which have provided us with practically all material comforts. A glance at the sky, specially at night, gives us an idea of vastness of space and the forces that hold together all heavenly bodies. The alternation of day and night makes us feel the passage of time in the form of hours, days and years.

The universe does not exist in haphazard manner but is governed by regular laws right from an atom to the galaxies, With no liberty whatsoever, of anything going against any law. The rising and the setting of the sun, the regular changes in the area of brightness of the moon, the positions of stars at night, the movement of electrons in the atom, the laws of physics , chemistry, biology, geology e.t.c., the regularity in the sequence of birth, growth, decay and death in plants and animals, provide a conclusive proof of the existence of predestined and unchangeable laws of nature, confirmed by the Quran in the following terms :
"And whoever is in the skies and the earth bows down to ALLAH only, willingly or unwillingly."(Surah AL-RAADAH. 15)
The known universe thus appears to be a complex combination of matter, energy, space, time and life. Matter and energy interact in space giving rise to motion and each each such movement of matter or an event covers a period of time. These basic entities which are mutually related and governed by laws of nature from the theme of science. Scientists seek to understand nature and reduce this understanding of theirs in the form of laws. In this effort of inquiry, observation, experimentation and inference, tremendous knowledge on various aspects of nature has been accumulated. Science is nothing but this accumulated knowledge of nature arranged systematically.

Article On Religion

Religion
Article on Religion

Short Article What is a Religion:

Religion is a code of conduct for mankind prescribed and communicated by GOD through the agency of man selected by him, Known as messengers, apostles or Prophets. It invites man to believe in the Reality, Unity and the ultimate supremacy of GOD and to surrender spiritually, mentally and physically to his will, i.e., the message of the prophet and thereby lead a life in the manner illustrated by him. In other words, religion is an intimate blend of attitude and the practical realization of this attitude.
According to the Quran, the first message of GOD was addressed to Adam (PBUH) himself:
              "And Adam (PBUH) received ( some ) words from his Foster-er ...." ( Surah AL-BAQRAH. 38)

These instructions received by Adam (PBUH) should have formed the only religion for mankind till the end of the world. Contrary to this, we have a number of religions, apparently differing from each other both in faith and practice. What could be the cause or causes for the observed differences ?

Life during Adam's (PBUH) time must have been quite different from what it was later and it might have become necessary to amend the laws to suit the then existing circumstances. Man is in the habit of forgetting and changing the laws to suit his own fancies. It must have therefore become necessary to remind those who had changed the earlier ones. Consequently, communications of GOD came from time to time through various prophets in such a manner that no people can complain that they were ignored.
